Elli has a friend who went to the Bahamas last year. She came back with her hair in braids and Elli decided to start saving her money just in case she ever had the chance to do something like that. So, when we told her we were coming to the Bahamas, she brought her money to pay for her hair to be braided. We decided to wait until almost the end of vacation so she would be able to enjoy it some while here but also have it when she got home. We found this amazing woman and spent an hour with her while she braided Elli's hair.
Micah needed something to keep him busy so he was checking out all the jet skis for rent on the beach during the hair do.
Elli said it hurt a little but was so very happy about her hair. We learned some about how the people here in the Bahamas have been forced to work in tourist positions in order to make enough money to live on. The whole family, except the youngest, are often involved in the business. That was the case here.
The grounds for the resort were massive and we spent some time on Thursday exploring the grounds. We walked along this rope bridge and watched the sharks and other sea animals swimming around. We found some more pools and walked through other wings of the resort.
We went to a few more shops and spent some time walking around.
They both have anchor shirts and Micah, totally unprompted, wanted pictures with his sister. He even decided to offer hugs and kisses without us even asking:)
