Escape Room!

At our School of Education meeting, Dave whisked us away and took us out to an escape room and lunch at the Golden Corral. Our group here, Tianhong, Dave, Lynn, Megan, me, and Terry escaped from the Outbreak room a couple of minutes before the other team:)
Here is most of our current School of Education. It was a fun day, but we sure do still have a lot of work to catch up on before school starts.

First Scrimmage of the Season

Elli had a great scrimmage and they won!
She was so much more aggressive this year over how she ended last year.  I am proud of her.  Mom and dad came with us.

We had a Visit from Cousin Duane

Duane and Nikki came down for the weekend and brought the boat.  We went to Ceasar's Creek for boating and tubing.
I got on with Megan and Rayna.  Elli rode several times.  Micah did as well.
 We had a great time.
This cutie is so much fun.  We sure do love our visits with them.
Oh my goodness, I think I could squeeze him all day.
Duane got a flat tire on his trailer and they had to miss church to get it fixed.  Bummer.  We were all going to Lance and Lana's church to hear Justin speak and to have lunch together.  It was a fun weekend.

Last Day before I go back to Work!

The kids wanted to go to the Greene as we had not done that this summer.  We ate at Panera.
We wanted to get snow-cones and play in the fountains.  However, the water was not on and so we got them and walked around.  It was perfect weather and we had a great time.
Thursday night, I worked the Mother's Sale with Sherry and Leah like I have done for several years now.  Sherry thinks this is her last one.  Sad times.  At least we got to work together.

Beautiful Rainbow

This rainbow looked like it ended right in our front yard!  So very pretty.

Reading

Not every night, but close, I have read to and with my kids.  I have loved teaching them to read.  I love to read myself and pray they will too.  Micah has been reading to me all summer.  I finally remembered to get a picture of us.  He likes to read while we are snuggling:)  He still prefers I read to him, but he will read to me without much convincing.  Here he is reading one of his favorite series, King and Kayla.

Hike, Sleep-Over, New Room Design!

Leah and kids and mom and dad came over for the evening.  We went for a hike to the Indian Mound.
 Selfie with dad.
 The hiking kiddos.
 Top of the Indian Mound!
Dad was having a little difficulty knowing he had done enough.
I love this picture of the two of us.
Brent was helping Ruby down the mound.
Another great picture!  I am enjoying the new settings on my phone.
We decided on a last minute sleep over.  The kids wore Micah's clothes for sleeping.  We had beds and floor space all covered.  We actually had to move Oliver to the floor because he was taking up the whole bed with Micah.  The twins shared the top bunk!
Little Ruby fell asleep on Elli's floor while we finished putting up her decorations.
Finished product.  Leah is always good about helping with projects like this.  I am glad she made me do it.
I finished up the pom poms on Sunday afternoon.  We love the look of her room right now.

First Fire in FirePit

Micah was very excited to have a fire in the future site of our fire pit.
We were putting boxes on the fire to help get it started and then burned all the left over brush.
And of course, if there is a fire, Elli is asking about s'mores!
