Renovations Nov -Dec 2014

The entry way was laminate flooring.  The kitchen linoleum and the dining room carpet.
Brent tore it all up in order to have the floors replaced with engineered hard wood for the entry way, kitchen and dining room and new carpet in the front room and family room.
Elli posing with the old white formica counter tops in the kitchen.
Brent tore those up as well.
We chose some granite counter tops.  I got to go to the warehouse in Cincinnati to pick out our actual two slabs.  Cool.  It looks great.
The new under mount sink with the goose neck faucet is also great.
We decided to go ahead and paint.  After trying lots of samples, we decided on slate gray with an accent wall of autumn gray.
The kitchen is not my favorite place to paint.
All our furniture was in the front room and the family room, then in the kitchen and dining room:)  Made for interesting times.
Micah thought he was a worker too and carried his "measure" everywhere.  He learned how to carry the wood pieces and "stomp" them into place.
 It took three days.
 My baby.
The back splash went in quickly.  It really looks great.
The fireplace is one of my favorite new things.
I decided that the dining room had to be repainted as well.  This green looked absolutely terrible against the new gray color.  It is now gold.
 Coming together.
Micah was the same way with the carpet layers.  He wanted to be part of it so badly!
Though it is fun to see the new, the work to get it done is crazy.  I feel like our Christmas season has passed us by as the work has been done.  This place is dusty and messy.  However, it is finally near done on Dec. 21.  All we have left is to put the extra cabinet in place, seal the back splash, and redo the hall closet shelving.
